Permanent Residence from Intra-Company Transferee Visa?

Hi everyone, can’t seem to find the answer to this via googling, so I’m hoping someone here can help.

I’m currently in the process of negotiating an Intra-Company Transfer (I’m an Engineer/Project Manager) and I’ve been reading up on the details of the visa and it seems pretty straightforward, but I have a couple of questions:

What I can’t seem to find is whether time spent in Japan under this visa counts towards Permanent Residence? I have checked and per the points system I should have either 75 or 80 points at the moment, soon to become a solid 80 or higher in 2024 after I get one more year of work experience. I know that this point system allows you to apply for PR after either 3 years or 1 year depending on your points, but does the time spent in Japan under the Intra-Company Transferee Visa count for that?

Also wondering… If it does, when the time comes, it is possible to go from the visa to PR straight away without having to leave Japan to do the paperwork?

Thank you very much for your guidance!
