Hello Everyone! My group consists of 5 guys (all recent college graduates) and we have created a very rough itinerary of our 13 day trip. We are aware that covering all 4 of these cities in less than 2 weeks is a little bit of a crunch, but Hiroshima/Miyajima is a must for us. This is the first time in Japan for all of us, so any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
**Day 0 (Tue 3/28): Arrive in Tokyo**
* Arrive at HND @ 2:00 PM
* 1hr train to Airbnb, settle down
* Conveyor belt sushi?
* Explore Kabukicho, Golden Gai
**Day 1 (Wed 3/29): Tokyo**
* Explore Shinjuku, maybe go to Imperial Palace area?
* Chidori-ga-fuchi Moat (Cherry Blossoms)
* \* Wondering if we can also fit Akihabara on this day \*
* Night: Omoide Yokocho
**Day 2 (Thu 3/30): Tokyo – East**
* Senso-Ji , explore Asakusa
* Ueno Park, Akihabara(?), Skytree(?)
* Night: Ueno area food/drink tour
**Day 3 (Fri 3/31): Tokyo – West**
* Yoyogi Park/Meiji Jingu
* Shibuya Crossing/Sky

**Day 4 (Sat 4/1): Day trip to Mt. Fuji**
* Day trip to Lake Kawaguchiko
**Day 5 (Sun 4/2): Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto (AM)**
* Nishiki Market/Gion
* Tea Ceremony at 3 PM
* Go to Osaka airbnb in the evening and explore the nightlife there
**Day 6 (Mon 4/3): Kyoto**
* (EARLY AM) Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Tenryu-Ji
* Iwatayama Monkey Park
* Golden Shrine (Kinkaku-Ji)?
**Day 7 (Tue 4/4): Day trip to Nara, Evening in Osaka**
* Deer Park, Todai-Ji
* Kasuga-taisha
* Dotonbori
**Day 8 (Wed 4/5): Kyoto**
* (EARLY AM) Fushimi Inari Shrine & Torii Gates
* Kyoto Station to Ryokan/Onsen (1hr away)
**Day 9 (Thu 4/6): Kyoto → Hiroshima**
* 3.5hr journey to Hiroshima (AM)
* Peace Memorial Park & A-Bomb Dome
* Eat okonomiyaki @ Okonomimura
**Day 10 (Fri 4/7): Miyajima Day Trip, Back to Tokyo**
* Hotel → Miyajima: \~1hr 10min
* Day trip to Miyajima island
* Last shinkansen to Tokyo @ 18:54
**Day 11: (Sat 4/8): Tokyo**
* Arrive (Minato City Airbnb) @ basically midnight
* Tsukiji Market at 8/9 AM
* teamLabs Planets @ 12:30 PM
* Night: Explore Roppongi area
**Day 12: (Sun 4/9): Tokyo/Fly Home**
* Fly out of HND @ 4:45 PM
This is my first time posting on this sub so please let me know if I am missing anything. More than anything, we just want to make sure this makes sense and is doable. Once again any and all advice/criticism is welcomed as this is a very rough itinerary and definitely needs some refinement. Thanks for all your help!!
P.S. We would love any general tips for preparing for a trip like this. We are planning to use Ubigi eSIM and a JR Pass but are still figuring out which site to buy it through.
