Itinerary Check: 14 Days (18/04 – 01/05)

Hi everybody, finally my time has come, 3rd time going to japan but with my wife this time for my honeymoon. We are not really into night life such as bar hopping, so it will be until around 8 or 9 PM each day. My wife wants something else other than shopping mall, and I want to shop for hobby

Need help just in case I made some mistakes, I booked all of the hotel and JR pass 7 days already:

  1. Day 5 would be challenging using the bus/train system. Using a taxi would make it more doable.
I’d also recommend doing Ashiyama bamboo forest and Fushimi Inari in the morning (less crowded) and Kiyomizu Dera in the evening to catch the sunset over Kyoto.
Day 6 sound hard, but I guess you could take a train from Nara to Osaka to Kobe to prevent too much back tracking. But I’d expect the train to Hakone would be more in the evening than the afternoon.
Hotels in Japan offer luggage forwarding to another hotel, which might help since you seem to be switching cities in the afternoon. So you don’t have to carry/store your luggage in between hotels. Maybe even forwarding your luggage to skip a city, ie. forward your luggage from Kyoto to Tokyo and taking only an overnight bag for Hakone.
There also Odawara Castle to checkout. Odawara is where you’d make your way to Hakone from.

Since you might be getting to Sanrio through Shinjuku, you could go to Nakano Broadway on the way back? This would give more time in Akihabara.
Senso-ji, Skytree, and Aki is also a lot of shopping which means a log of bags. Nakano is on the other side of Tokyo, so you might not want to carry all that across town.

While at Diver City, Tokyo Joypolis is nearby. It has a bunch arcade, VR games and simulators.

Symphony Cruises does boat cruises around Tokyo Bay during the day and at night. It goes also goes under the Rainbow bridge.

    Have a great trip.
