Anybody at Kyoto University?

Does anybody happen to know Dr. Yamamaka Shinya at Kyoto University (center for iPS research and application)? He is a stem cell researcher and I want to get in contact with him somehow for my friend Lili Johansson (@ninjacatgirl) who needs iPS cell treatment.

You might have heard of Lili and her story.

His spouse’s name is Yamanaka Chika. She’s a dermatologist. Also at Kyoto University.

If any of you know of have heard of them and can get in contact with them, please let me know. It would help a lot.

  1. You may also want to try asking in /r/Kyoto.

  2. I keep seeing posts about her. A Go Fund Me, etc.

If she really lives in Japan, she has health insurance. Why does she need money for IPS “surgery” in Thailand (as some posts suggest)?

I’m just confused by so much of this, and there’s more than a few red flags present.

Why can’t she, or the medical team in charge of her care, contact this professor? As far as I’m aware, she isn’t a medical professional, so why do these posts focus on such a specific treatment?
