I have been living in Japan for almost four years and I am finishing my PhD here. On the other hand, my husband has received an offer from the Netherlands. We would greatly appreciate it if you could answer the following question: which option would you choose if you were in our position?

I’d say most people in this sub actually want to live in Japan… so, “Apple or orange” to a Apple lover sub.
Anyways, consider your future. Either are pretty nice. Career, children, friends and hobbies, retirement opportunities, etc..

I would say Netherlands, but that’s my opinion.
Let’s be honest: Japan has no future. Everyone knows Japan’s economy is pretty much fucked with all the elderly they have and not enough young people to pay tax. It will only get worse and worse.
It’s more of a personal choice. Nobody can answer this for you.
That’s a tough choice: bad weather or horrible climate!
