Bunka Fashion college PLEEASE HELP

Hey i’m an 18 year old Australian who is planning on studying japanese and going to bunka fashion college (vocational school) After my japanese is at an efficient level. From what i’ve seen in my research bunka fashion college does not provide bachelor degrees , as they provide a form of Advanced diploma. I was wondering if that would leave me possibly under qualified when i move onto the fashion. I wanted initially to build a portfolio and hopefully find a company abroad to sponsor my visa. I have done some research and it seems that if you want your visa to be sponsored by a company you need a bachelors degree.
I thought Bunka fashion college was quite prestigious but if the course doesn’t provide a bachelors degree how far can it really get me in the industry? and what does bunka’s diploma actually translate to?
if someone could shed some light on these topics it would be much appreciated.

A bachelor’s degree is the minimum education requirement to teach English. Different careers have different minimum requirements.

I’d expect that graduating from Bunka would be more than enough to qualify for a visa in the fashion industry (assuming the role qualifies for visa sponsorship in the first place).

I’m not sure where you’re coming from… Where I come from it would be equivalent to a college diploma. I believe in Australia it would be equivalent to TAFE. In the US I think it would be similar to an associates degree.

  2. What kind of a career are you looking at after graduating from fashion school? Are you going to start your own brand or work for a label? I have many acquaintances who graduated from fashion school. Guess what they do now? Nothing to do with fashion.
