Looking for advices about attending language school in Japan

TL;DR – a 25, burmese, graduated, want to go to japan for work, but having doubt and trouble deciding what is best and looking for advice.

I am 25 year old and from Myanmar who is looking to move to Japan. My country, Myanmar, had been staged military coup since 2021 and everything here is getting worse. I have a degree in B.E (Electronics) and achieved Top-J: Primary A2 in japanese language. I know Chinese language (my mom is chinese) and have decent English level.

So I am planning to attend language school at Ohara, Osaka with my cousin in next October 2023. My family could afford me around $6,000 (Though the agency I applied will help covering bank statement).

So, here is some questions that I would like to ask for advices:

1. Will the part-time job will cover the expense of living cost in Japan? (I heard some people illegally work past the student work hour limit to cover all the expenses)
2. How long do I need to attending the language school? (I am aiming to get N3 in next JLPT test)
3. Can I change from student visa to work visa after attending language school?
4. Some of my friend are suggesting that I shouldn’t go with language school, instead I study to JLPT N2 level and directly get a work visa to Japan. (I am freshly graduated and don’t have any work experience)

  1. >My family could afford me around $6,000 (Though the agency I applied will help covering bank statement)

This sounds borderline fraudulent. Immigration has the financial requirements to prove that you can support yourself. $6000 (I’m assuming US) is not enough to meet those requirements. Having an agency “help” with that sounds very close to immigration fraud.

    >Will the part-time job will cover the expense of living cost in Japan?

No. A part time job can cover *some* (Or even most) of your expenses, but you cannot pay both your living expenses and tuition on a part time income. This is why immigration requires the proof of financial support.

    >I heard some people illegally work past the student work hour limit to cover all the expenses

We do not suggest or condone breaking the law here.

    >Can I change from student visa to work visa after attending language school?

Yes, if you find a job.

    >Some of my friend are suggesting that I shouldn’t go with language school, instead I study to JLPT N2 level and directly get a work visa to Japan. (I am freshly graduated and don’t have any work experience)

With no experience you are going to find it ***very*** difficult to find a job. If you work for a few years while studying Japanese then yes, this could be a viable plan. But you need that work experience.
