Q: Himeji with a baby

While I heard that the castle itself is inaccessible on any sort of wheels, I was wondering if I can visit just the Himeji castle park grounds with a stroller, to save my husband’s poor back. Anyone have experience on using a stroller for the castle grounds?

  2. Most of the castle grounds are accessible with a stroller, however, the *tenshu* is not.

Also carrying baby on your back into the keep is a very, very bad idea.

  3. Yes. Castle grounds no problem. It will take awhile for your husband to go into the castle and up all the many stairs to the top. While he is doing this you can get pictures outside and/or wander the nearby [Kokoen Garden.](https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3502.html) There are usually a few friendly cats outside the castle entrance in the mornings too. 🙂
