  1. Nagoya is on the way from Kyoto to Tokyo so it makes much more sense to (try) to get tickets to the Ghibli theme park on the 14th. Check out of the hotel in Kyoto, travel to Nagoya for Ghibli Theme park, when done at park, continue onwards to Tokyo for hotel checkin. This way you don’t lose a day of sightseeing in Kyoto itself.

  2. OP, this itinerary is all over the place. Why are you starting in Osaka, going to Kyoto, to Nagoya, back to Kyoto, then to Tokyo only to go back to Osaka and then back again to Tokyo?

Go to Osaka, stay in Osaka the entire time and get the train from there to Kobe/Awaji. Do the USJ while you’re here and then do a day trip to Kyoto. Then take the train from Osaka to Nagoya and then from Nagoya to Tokyo and stay there until you have to leave.

Your itinerary as it is is way too convoluted and wastes so much time just sitting on trains for no reason. If you bought the JR pass and are trying to make it worth it, just do a day trip to Hiroshima from Osaka and it’ll pay off.

  3. Me and my boyfriend are leaving the 20th but our other friends are leaving the 17th so we wanted to be back in Tokyo so they can leave. We got separate flights and I had to get a new one in the 20th instead of the 18th. It was very strange that they cancelled our flight so early on but I thought it would be nice to explore more.
