FitEasy or Anytime Fitness?

From what I can see right now- they’re similarly priced, they both have locations near my home and work, both have the same tattoo policy (ok if covered), both open 24 hours, and seem to have similar equipment.

Plus in the FitEasy column- saunas.
Plus in the Anytime Fitness column- more locations.

Anyone have any experiences or thoughts to share?

  1. Are you going to cover your tattoos in the sauna? If not that’s not really a plus is it. Whereas more locations is.

  2. A few national team athletes (still amateur status) and one professional that I know are all part of AnyTime Fitness. Probably has to do with the number of locations that it is better for when they are on the road.

  3. Really depends on the specific store — two Anytime fitness stores can have totally different sizes/levels of equipment, so if it’s hard to tell what each particular store has in terms of equipment you want from their website, just stop in to each one and make your decision.

That said, more stores doesn’t really seem like a big benefit unless your lifestyle has you traveling all over on a regular basis where you’d take advantage of that. I personally would base my decision on which is closer, and if one store has at least two squat/power racks to minimize waiting times.
