So I just encounter a NHK guy once , like 10 years ago, lol.
But now I recieve a letter saying that we all have to pay it now so… fellow redditors, embrace yourself.

  1. Always been. Nothing changed except new law made it so they can charge double if you don’t sign up despite having receiving device, but unclear now how it will be enforced or proven.

  2. Whilst the law has changed to be more aggressive, the actual practice is pretty much the same. Bin their letters, ignore them, slam the door in their faces if you end up answering.

  3. > embrace yourself

I never knew it would take NHK payments for me to finally accept who I am, for all my flaws and inadequacies, and that I am worthy of love🥲.

  4. They have to prove you have a tv. NHK does devious things and straight up lies to get you to pay. But if you don’t have a TV in your home, in your car, or on your person, then your residence cannot be charged for NHK. NHK is also required to help you view NHK if you are paying for it. There are many cases where you just cannot get NHK signal, yet you have a TV and are required by law to pay for NHK. NHK will often lie and say they don’t have a service to help you view NHK. However, if you are polite and keep complaining, they will eventually do something to make sure you can view NHK. If you keep hiding from NHK and maintain that you don’t have a TV, then you won’t have to pay for NHK, even if they sue you. If you don’t have a TV or device that gets tv radio signal, you are fine not paying. Be careful that you don’t have a car navigation in public view that gets TV. That’s how those fuckers got us.

  5. I’ll just keep not opening my doors if its anyone other than the postman or a deliveryman for Sagawa or similiar. Those NHK fucks ring twice, say whatever they say and then move on. I just keep doing whatever I was doing. Eventually, they go away.
