We’re planning to go from Fukuoka to Beppu on MARCH 13-15 and we really want to take the Yufuin no Mori. The problem is that on that scheduled date March 13, Yufuin no Mori can only take us to upto Yufuin.
It says on their website that the Fukuoka to Beppu is not available on that date.
So we’re thinking of just purchasing the Kamenoi Bus Pass Wide 2 days.
Once we arrive in Yufuin, we will purchase this bus pass and just ride the bus from Yufuin to Beppu. If we take the train ride, it will be 1 hr and 30 minutes long. Bus only takes 50 minutes long.
Also, buying the 2 day bus pass way is also efficient as we’re going back to Yufuin the next day.
I’m just not sure if you can purchase the Kamenoi Bus Pass on the day of travel or if you need to reserve ahead. I can’t find any way online to reserve. It’s all in Japanese.
Also not sure if there’s a Bus pass available to purchase in Yufuin. Can anybody confirm?
Or if anybody has better options on how to go to Beppu from Yufuin?

Other option is taking local trains (with transfer at Oita).
I’ve taken the local train and thd bus. I prefer the local train because the views are spectacular.
