Advice for 14 day Japan Intinerary

Hello everyone!

Me and a couple of friends (five in total) are going to Japan around May for 14 days and was planning on seeing as much as we can. This is our first time in Japan or anywhere really. We are all inexperienced travellers and it was our first time planning a trip. This sub was great to find out tips, general advices and other personal experiences. Itd be great to get sum advice on our itinerary, as we do have doubts, it be nice to hear some personal advices from experienced Japan travellers!

TOKYO DAY 1 – Sunday May 21

11:20 AM – gang arrival SANRIO PUROLAND (while waiting for butter)
3:25 PM – butter brudders arrival
WALKING AROUND

DAY 2 – Monday May 22

10:00 AM – Imperial Palace – 1.5 hours
11:30 AM – Buy Food + Subway to DisneySea
12:30 PM – DisneySea YOU CAN BRING IN FOOD / getting wet
9:00 PM – Eat Dinner?

DAY 3 – Tuesday May 23

10:00 AM – Teamlab (3hours)
12:00 pm Shibuya shopping
Sunset – Shibuya Sky
LAUNDRYYY SAVE MONEY USE THE MOST OF IT (THE AIRBNB)

Day 4 – Wednesday May 24

10:00 AM – Studio Ghibli – 4 hours
2:00 PM – Pokemon Center DX – 1-2 hours
Akihabara (Weebs) (maid / macho cafe) – Rest of the frickin day

OSAKA Day 5 – Thursday May 25

Shinkansen (Bullet Train) from Tokyo to Nara (2.5 Hrs)
Nara stuff:
– Tōdai-ji
– Kasuga-taisha
– Nara Park
Nara → Osaka (bullet train)
– check-in
– Dotonbori (evening)

Day 6 – Friday May 26

Nintendo World (Universal Studios JP)

KYOTO

Day 7 – Saturday May 27

Zen Garden Train (osaka to kyoto) (Osaka-umeda station)
Kiyomizu-dera (castle)
Ninenzaka and sannenka
Yasaka shrine
Maruyama Park
Rent a bike?

Day 8 – Sunday May 28

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (early)
Sagona romantic train
Kinkakuji Temple (Gold)
Arashiyama Bamboo Forest (night)

Day 9 – Monday May 29

Fushimi Inari shrine
Nishiki Market

Day 10 – Tuesday May 30

Kyoto to ryokan (location: tbd)
Aiming to arrive in afternoon

TOKYO

Day 11 – Wednesday May 31
Go back to tokyo

Day 12 – Thursday June 1
5:00 AM – Toyosu market (chris 5am byebye)
Cup noodle museum

Day 13 – Friday June 2
Relax, walk around, visit local stores

Day 14

Hotels have been booked. We were also going to book a ryoken for a night in Kyoto and recommendations would be great. Any recommendation of favourite restaurants in different cities would be amazing!

  1. I don’t know what exactly the type of advice your looking for, but some of your days seem a little ham packed. I would move the imperial palace to another day though and give disneysea an entire day. It’s massive. Also, the food inside isn’t super expensive, it isn’t like American amusement parks. Get the potato and demi glacé churro.

    Do not take my word for this and maybe others here can chime in, but almost everyone I’ve ever talked to has said that ghibli museum just isn’t worth it. It’s far away and difficult to get tickets and you have to commit a lot of time to it. Akihabara or any otaku area are going to have tons of ghibli stuff. I love ghibli and I’ve been to Japan seven times, but I still haven’t been, so take it with a MASSIVE grain of salt.

  2. There are no lights in the bamboo forest in Arashiyama, so you won’t see much at night.

  3. I’ll be using some of these for my trip thanks.. If anyone recommends more fun for Tokyo do say 🙂
