I’m looking to study both this Summer for a month or 2 in Japan but outside of KICL can’t seem to find any other options.. was hoping to maybe check out Hokkaido, does anyone know of open language schools for the Summer?

I also want to enroll in a 6mo-1yr program somewhere and have researched a few options with KICL potentially being the best. I’m not looking for anything too intensive and am hoping the school may provide some sort of intramural / club sports to its students through the school or a sister univeristy? Not sure if that’s a stretch. I enjoy rural / more countryside / traditional vibes. Don’t want to be in Tokyo really.

Doesn’t visa processing take half a year?
It’s too late to start applying for a summer start time (most schools recommend a 5-6 month window to get all the documents ready for immigration).
The minimum student visa duration they’re issuing right now is 6 months I believe, so a summer-only stint isn’t possible.
If you’re hoping for a more rural location it would probably be in your best interest to narrow down which prefectures seem like a good fit and search for language schools near the area. Most language schools are centered around Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc. so it’s harder to find schools not in a major city.
Also keep in mind Language schools are not like Universities, there are no sports clubs (no premise and a liability with foreign students) your best bet would be to find a local club to join.
