I had the same question and googled it. Seems like 入口 is just a short version that is used to fit on signs and stuff.
The purpose of adding り was to let readers know that you would need to use the kunyomi for the kanji, regardless they both mean the same thing.
Hmm – l[ooking in Jisho](https://jisho.org/search/%E5%85%A5%E5%8F%A3), there seems to be a number of ways of writing and pronouncing this. A surprise to me.
