Best way to create Anki cards from printed material?

Recently I have been reading books, writing unknown vocabulary and phrases into a small notebook I have where I write the reading and meaning. I learn very well with Anki and want to place these terms in an Anki deck to learn. Of course my notebook is physical. Is the only real way to add to Anki just writing the cards one by one (or on excel with a two column table and converting it to CSV), or is there some sort of software that can make the process more effective?

  1. I use a dictionary app called Takoboto when reading paper books.

It has a feature that lets you import your lookup history into anki as cards.

AnkiDojo looks interesting though. I’m going to have to give it a try.
