Anyone knows how to properly set FLTR to recognize japanese words?

As the title says i downloaded FLTR to study japanese to replace Lingq in case i ever cease to use it. The problem is FLTR identifies each individual symbol as a word which is not useful for me because i may know how to read 頑張って for example but if i see the kanji 頑 by itself i have no clue on how to pronounce that. So having a system to recognize text like Lingq is really important for me.
