Job searching in Tokyo

Hey everyone. I have been living in Tokyo for the last few months as a student. I currently work part time at Kanda Gaigo Kids Club. The place is great, staff and teachers are kind. Im still actively looking for full time teaching positions as I’m not sure if I’ll be hired FT by kids club (they mentioned if there’s an opening, they’ll let me know). My student visa expires in April 2023 so I need to hurry. Could you suggest companies are hiring right now for Spring 2023? I applied at Shane, Benesse Studio, gaba, peppy kids etc but got rejected.

I have a bachelors degree in Education and a masters degree in English literature and 2 years+ experience teaching in my home country. Also, I’m not a native speaker but the mode of education was English.

I hope I get some help here. Thank you! 🙂

  1. Any reason why you are only considering Tokyo? You have the benefit of actual teaching qualifications and experience yet are gunning for eikawa jobs presumably because you’re only wanting to stay in Tokyo. You may have better luck getting actual jobs in other cities.

  2. KidsUp are usually looking for teachers. They seem to have schools popping up all over Kanto these days.

  3. Look at JALT jobs, Ohayo Sensei, JREC for teaching positions.

Also try E-Staff. Their client schools want teachers who have post-graduate degrees and can communicate in Japanese.
