Panasonic dishwasher

Recently bought an overpriced Panasonic countertop dishwasher (NP-TH4-W). The first one arrived and there was some soapy looking stuff in the bottom of the machine (inside). Panasonic guy came to have a look and he was pretty shocked. He kept asking if it was a display unit. Definitely wasn’t.

So I ordered a replacement. Just turned up and it’s the same issue.

Anyone bought one of there units and had similar issues? Does Panasonic put all of their dishwashers through a quality check before shipping them out hence the used item? If so, why didn’t the Panasonic representative not know this?

  1. Where did you buy it from? We’re on our second one and they both looked pristine inside when they were brand new.

  2. Did you get a refurbished or used one?

Mine was completely new and dry, and it came with blue tapes holding things together to prevent rattling when shipping. Of course, they can put tape on a refurbished item, but if there was no tape, it was not new.

  3. In the manual page 30 top left text.

    「 開梱時、水滴が残っている場合があります。(出荷時の注水検査によるものです)」

Maybe it is leftover liquid from their pre delivery inspection.

I have had Panasonic before (as a customer) and they can have very thorough inspection measures for many of their appliances.
