them being brought into hontai by taguchi (bullet club’s very first victim) and tanahashi was such a great story beat and i loved that they didn’t just give tama and tanga their moments but they also gave jado a little arc as well with him getting the submission over gedo when they finally beat bullet club. this was really well done
This storyline had dud written all over it, but Tama, Tanga, and Jado worked so hard to get over as babyfaces. Tama was nuclear hot at the time too, and it culminated perfectly with him beating Evil for the Never title.
Then they cut him off at the knees to put over Anderson, and we all know how well that turned out.
Hard agree. Never thought babyface tama would be the move, but damn I was wrong
On a somewhat related note, does Bullet Club even have a leader now since Jay White is exiled from NJPW by Hikuleo and Eddie Kingston?
I didn’t know how badly I wanted Tama tagging with Tanahashi until I saw it.
I’m still on the fence and want to see Tanahashi heel turn. Also where TF did T (Tonga Loa) go? He was finally starting to get over with me.
Good for them, not for BC.
Tama is definitely finding his footing as the time goes by, seems like he’s missing something? He has the look and such but there’s a piece missing to propel him
Honestly think after G.O.D left they should maybe have just changed the faction name to something else, because without those guys it just doesn’t remotely feel like Bullet Club anymore! Love what Tama is doing these days though!
I too thought it was a bad move, but as usual Gedo was right. The only disappointment is not getting GoD vs Anderson & Gallows but you can’t account for injuries
Not a popular opinion in 2021, but my logic was no other team being heel for that long. Then they worked baby at G1 and people were still in denial. I’m glad it worked out.
I feel like I’m the only one who thought Tama had big baby face energy going into this. Dude just has big energy and charisma I always figured he could get a crowd eating out of his hand. He’s got the juice and I think he’s a good choice for the Never belt to try and restore it a bit with some big defenses against some other mid-card guys that have some juice and need a showcase match to get over.
The best part about this storyline was Tama Tonga. So much character development.
I totally agree, I’d never expect to be so involved in his story straight from the turn, but even the touch of Jado siding with GoD against BC and his old teammate Gedo was great.
I love as well that Tama basically drove Jay out the company – beating him at the G1 stopped Jay winning, which lead to Okada winning and beating Jay at Wrestle Kingdom, which starts his downfall via Tama’s brother.
Always saw Tama as someone who has the whole package for a world title run. From his style , swagger , look , physique and ring skills . Hell , his promo skills are pretty good as well even though G.O.D. never really had ta do much talking . I was hoping for his singles run ta start 5 years ago but im glad it’s happening now instead of never
I’m eating a big fat L on Toma Tonga. He’s been great.

I’ll never forget the Jado turn to help GoD
