I worked as a 正社員 seishain (full-time employee) for a company based in Osaka since 2021. Every year my employer would give me a 年末調整 nenmatsuchousei (year-end adjustment). So they do all the tax filing on my behalf.
I decided to quit the company Aug 2022. When I left the company, they only give me a 源泉徴収票 Genzenchoushu-hyou (tax withholding slip).
Question is I have no clue what to do, do I just go to my nearest tax office and gave this document together with my residence card?
I’m hopeless.
PS I found a new seishain job in Jan 2023

Luckily, unless you had other income sources or worked for another company before January, extreme medical expenses etc, all you need is that 源泉徴収票. If you make an appointment with the tax office they can walk you through doing it, but filing online is easy.
If you can read japanese or have someone who can help you, the NTA has a [site](https://www.keisan.nta.go.jp/kyoutu/ky/sm/top) that will make all the tax forms for you. Then you can, e-file, mail them, or give them in person.
I quit my company in August 2021. My old company filed my taxes for me in spring of 2022 since I had no other source of income after that for 2021. They confirmed that for me before I left.
This year I filed my own taxes because I had no income from a company source in 2022
