Lion diet in Japan

Hey guys was thinking about trying to lion diet here in Japan.

I haven’t seen many other meet products than beef, chicken & pork in the super markets.

I was wondering if deer meat is sold anywhere?

And at a semi-affordable rate. (Like 3000 yen per meal is a bit much…unless it’s enough to keep me full all day)

  1. WTF is a “lion diet”?

You can find all kinds of meats in Aeon (though they’re usually frozen). Lotteria has a deer meat burger.

EDIT – googled it. People’s stupidity never ceases to amaze. How long do you plan to do this diet for? Unlike lions, we can’t produce our own Vitamin C and even a week or two without it is going to cause you unpleasant side-effects. Within 4 weeks you might even get scurvy. You’ll also be missing out on the carbs you need for energy, fibre to help you poop, vitamin E and folate (hopefully you’te not pregnant), calcium, magnesium and potassium. All things lions, thanks to evolution, don’t need in amounts that humans do.

  2. You can buy lamb at Summit and other supermarkets. And of course, horse.
Deer, boar, and bear are also available frozen on the Internet.
But if they are not processed properly, they are very peculiar and difficult to eat.
In Okinawa, goats are also eaten frequently.

Since most of Japan is mountainous, the damage to people and crops is serious and hunting is practiced.
You can find such shops by searching for “ジビエ”.

  3. I got all my protein from deer for a while. It costs more than beef, but it’s lean and damned good. I was buying ground deer at 5000 for 2kg online.

  4. Or you could just try a balanced diet and throw in some exercise because it’s, you know… healthy?
