Where can I buy sealed Pokémon/YuGiOh cards?

I recently picked up the hobby, but all I find are second hand stores like Book Off or Mint-Shibuya, anyone know where I can purchase booster boxes/packs?

  1. Conbini sometimes has the packs.

You might be able to get boxes at bigger stores like Yamada Denki.

I used to get some at my local toys r us before it closed down (the Toshimaen store).

You can also go to the Pokemon Centers around Tokyo. The one at ikebukuro had packs last time I was there. There’s also a toys r us there too.

You could also go walk around Akihabara.

Aeon mall is also a good place to look.

  2. I had this confusion too.

You can find them in electronic stores that sell kids’ toys. Like kojima camera.

    or at toys r us.

Or at manga/gaming stores that aren’t hardoff style.

  3. I bought many packs on the Labi in Ikebukuro, probably on the others there are as well. Lately I have seen conbinis selling them too, but restricting 5 per person

  4. Card stores? I’m close to Nagoya and there’s like a billion card shops in OSU so I imagine other big citys are about the same.

  5. Not sure where you live but I bought my packs and boxes from card shops like 竜星のPAO or C-Labo etc.

  6. Aside from the thread’s other answers:

Even in pretty small towns, my experience is that there is likely one local card/hobby shop that is the known, go-to spot for this kind of stuff. On the weekends, they’re easily identified from the gaggle of junior high kids hanging around outside the doors. They usually also deal heavily in plastic model kits, and sometimes video games, too.

Open up google maps in your area, search トレカ, and see what comes up.
