We’re looking at new cars and thinking about getting our first EV – the Nissan Sakura. (Since it’s only available in Japan I thought it would be relevant to this sub. Correct me if wrong.)
We’ve heard the saleswoman’s pitch, read the catalogs and online articles, analyzed the cost estimates and watched the Youtube vids.
I’d love to hear from any r/japanlife redditors who actually have one.

/u/capaho has posted about owning a sakura recently. Can check their post history.
I suppose you might get some better feedback if you provide some more information on what you plan on using the car for.
Anyway, I don’t have one but its an EV so you are spending a lot more than you would for a comparable gasoline car and the depreciation is probably going to be pretty bad so if TCO matters its probably not the best choice.
OP just curious why you want a electric kei? You can a get a gas powered Dayz that costs half for basically the same chassis and body size minus some cosmetic changes
Is Nissan still using air-cooled batteries instead of the standard liquid-cooled packs that most other companies use? Liquid cooling affects material costs but increases battery life and range. Plus Japan is only getting warmer in summers.
