I’ve read just about every post on the sub and scoured the FAQ document but I do not understand what sort of documentation I need for OTC medication. I submitted my forms but they’re asking for prescriptions for OTC things like sensimist and zyrtec?? I completed form 13s for all of them. Do I just need to have my doctor sign a note saying I have allergies for my OTC meds? I don’t see how getting a prescription for something I buy off the shelf at Walmart is possible, does it even exist for non-prescription level strength?
My doctor’s office already has been slacking in time so I’m kind of toeing the line between getting approved in time for my flight. Any help appreciated. (I’m in America)

Why do you need to import so much over the counter medicine? Just buy it here?
For example, that ‘zyrtec’ stuff is sold here as Contact Z – [https://www.matsukiyo.co.jp/store/online/p/4987246602341](https://www.matsukiyo.co.jp/store/online/p/4987246602341)
Sensimist is sold as Flonase here – https://www.matsukiyo.co.jp/store/online/p/4987246602204
I’m fairly certain it says you can bring up to two months worth of OTC medicine. If you need more than that you’ll have to apply for a Yunyu kakunin-sho. Best bet is to get a Prescription from the doctor or a signed letter detailing your allergy meds. Then get it prescribed in Japan. Ofc if you’re just in Japan for a month or two you won’t need to go this route
I take Fexofenadine (Allegra) as a prescription medicine due to requiring a higher dosage than OTC allows. I’ll be applying for the import license to bring 2 months and will get my prescription filled by a Japanese doctor within that time period
