Just gave this a re-watch on YouTube and man did I love Shibata and KENTA together in this little run they had in NOAH; they perfectly complemented each other, both just being disrespectful and cocky as hell youngsters who loved to kick the shit outta people.
Here, they take on Mitsuharu Misawa himself and young Go Shiozaki, right around the time Misawa saw Go as one of the future stars of NOAH; right away, Shibata is so dismissive of Go and just beats him like a young boy, slapping and kicking him like he owed him money, and one cool spot involves Shibata and KENTA just kicking poor Go right in the chest while they have him on the ropes.
Also great exchanges between Shibata and Misawa, with Shibata’s elbows/forearm strikes being some of the best around, but come on, MISAWA’S. ELBOW. IS. GOD.
