1. Really don’t understand this, surely if you want a new Gaijin Bullet club leader you’d go with ELP as he’s better than Finlay in every sense and actually over?

   Match quality wise he’s been very good and delivered when he’s been asked to. I just don’t quite feel the character yet. I also think he has styled himself so much on Jay I hope it’s going somewhere because it kind of looked ridiculous to me.

   For a company that made millions of dollars from letting okada be like “fuck the establishment, fuck the line, I’m the best and I don’t bow down to anyone” they sure are getting weird with guys being so based on other wrestlers

   Still ill give it a chance because I’ve been impressed with finlays work to reinvent himself in ring..

    Anyway. Finlay has definitely improved, he still looks like a dollar store version of Jay White but maybe with a good run (and maybe Jay White’s gym plan) Finlay can actually look more than just a midcarder.

    Can’t complain too much either, there’s no good leader material in the club right now and not a gaijin in sight to lead the ship

27. I agree that BC is washed up and messed up in nwo 2000 levels and ELP was a better choice, but there’s so many Finlay slander in this thread. Finlay is actually a solid worker,,did a good G1, had a solid match against Ospreay for the US Championship, and i can already see him impressing people in this rocket strap run. People really did Kenny and Jay dirty when they become leaders of BC too… but they went on and became really good workers. While saying that, i recognize Finlay isn’t going to get pushed more than Ospreay and that he may be a commercial flop in Japan, because charisma doesn’t seem to be in his side like it was with Jay and Kenny.

28. Drew Parker would be cooler than Finlay lmao. There has to be other gaijin available. Too bad Jacob Fatu has a criminal record and prob can’t get into Japan. Even Janela. Finlay is just a guy.

    Moose or Alexander would be ideal but they’re with Impact.

31. This sucks. What a dissatisfying character direction. After all the great work he did in the G1 finally getting himself over as a babyface he just undos all of it and does exactly what Juice did.

    He also looks completely ridiculous. I have very low expectations for this.

32. Very underwhelmed.. I’m liking Finley recently, but the beard looks like it’s coloured in and the hair is very, old school Kenny Omega, and not as badass as they think.

    I hope it goes well for him, but I’m struggling to get hyped for it.. I’m just interested in ELPs comments to KENTA. I can see them maybe leaving BC?

34. I’m not as opposed to Finlay himself in the spot as I am to him now looking SO much like Jay. If that goes somewhere storywise and is going to eventually lead to him finding his own identity, I can get onboard. If not, I think this is a misfire.

35. Finlay had a great New Japan Cup run a few years ago where he defeated Jay and lost to Ospreay. He also had a very good G1. I know he can have great matches and lead Bullet Club, so I’m not mad. But his look tho? It’s SO bad. He also needs more muscle.

36. Lets just say I’m whelmed. He’s shown promise and he has been built up a little bit, so it’s not completely out of nowhere, but I still think of him as Juice Robinson’s tag team partner. Finlay has some proven to do

    Also, if they had waited a round or two it might have made the New Japan Cup more interesting. Now it feels much closer to Finlay vs. the field.

    Speaking of Juice, what the heck is he going to do with him now, is he still going to rep Bullet Club while his former tag team partner (whom he turned on) takes over as head of the group. I’m sorry WHAT

38. I feel like it’s 50/50 if he’ll rise to the occasion or if he flames out like Juice. But I like Finlay, I hope this works.

    A lot of people say he looks like Jay but to me he seems generic rather than a direct copy. Like, if you went to one of those AI art programs and typed in “bearded wrestler with long, dark hair” you’d get Finlay. His entrance gear stinks too. But Evil looked awkward right after his heel turn too and he got tweaked in to looking good.

    On the plus side, I like his Misfits-esque BC logo.

39. I wanna see how the rest of bullet club handles this. They just gonna be okay with someone who wasn’t even a part of it coming in and leading now? I wanna see some infighting.

40. Finlay was presented as just a guy for so long that it makes it hard to care about him as BC leader. That being said, he’s arguably in a better position than Omega was when he took over, so I’m willing to give this a chance.
