As the title says, I have the work visa (5 years) and will be working full time at a company (full-time employee 正社員).
I recently got an offer to work for another company on a contract basis (10-15 hrs monthly). My full-time employing company says: “Its okay as our company don’t care about what you do after working hours, but it might be impossible”. And that I should refer to Japanese law.
**Is it really impossible?** My impression is that if its a working visa and the company doesn’t care then it’s all good.
I’ve not been able to find a similar situation or answers to such a query, so if anyone can help it would be great!

If your company says ””Its okay as our company don’t care about what you do after working hours,” then you can work. There is no problem on Japanese law.
Some company’s prohibits side work (作業禁止) but it seems your company is okay.
