Good luck but I’d recommend start learning now. Cause you know, you’d be one step closer if you just learn a word a day
italki is a website you can (easily) find Japanese teachers
While you look for a teacher, try learning the Hiragana alphabet first.
In the meantime, why don’t you take a free trial lesson at all the sites? And, if you don’t have a specific goal in mind, you might try having a conversation in mixed English and Japanese with a Japanese person who wants to learn English through VR chat.
I use Nihongopro; you can get a trial lesson first. My experience has been positive since the teacher I’m with is both native and credentialed to teach to N2. I’d highly recommend.
