Me and my wife are trying to decide whether or not to get a spouse visa or a SOFA Visa. I am currently Active duty and trying to apply over at a base where we would like to live. But it’s extremely difficult to get the SOFA Visa. My questions are; Is there a way to circumvent the salary/saving requirements for obtaining the Visa? If so, How?
This is because she doesn’t have a job here in America and we aren’t sure how much she would need to save before she could technically sponsor me. She has a family member that is helping us out but we don’t want her to be the sponsor as she has already helped us a lot and she is extremely busy. We understand it doesn’t take long to actually get the Visa(by the governments standard) but we don’t want to be separated a long time.
