Hello peeps! I am scheduled to fly to Japan next Sunday (arriving Monday evening) under a WHV.
I have most everything sorted out already, however, I had to get a pilonidal cyst surgically removed from my buttock earlier this week. Operation went well but I have a quarter-size hole in my butt for now until everything is healed up (Plenty of opportunity for jokes there).
At the moment a nurse is coming every day to change the bandages and from her expectation it will probably take a full month to recover, and I will need to have follow-up care (just changing bandages really, but that’s not a place I can reach myself) once inJapan.
I have tried looking up at home nursing services in Tokyo but google seems to interpret that as me wanting to be a nurse. I tried searching in Japanese and it now assumed I wanted to quit being a nurse as 転職サイトkept cropping up.
Not sure if I just need to go into a hospital/clinic to be able to book this type of service? For reference I have lived in Japan before and speak the language so I’m not afraid of having to explain the issue to any non-English speaking medical practitioner if needed.

When I had things like these, I just went to the closest to me little clinic and they would do the change of bandages for a few hundred yen a pop. These clinics are at every corner if you live in the city, so no need to call in a nurse, as long as you are able to walk.
It’s called 訪問看護
Here’s a database of service providers in Tokyo.
