🤔 weird article. It made it sound like Japan is so far behind countries like Korea in semiconductors. Like Germany, the USA, and the UK, Japan today is still one of the world leaders in producing and exporting the machine and parts that go into the making of all things semiconductors. The world’s top makers of semiconductor wafers, cleaning machines, testing machines, high precision robot arms that make whatever in the process, etc are still Japanese (Germany, the USA, and the UK) companies. Very few Taiwan, Chinese and Korean in this space. Without those machines, countries that made end products couldn’t start manufacturing whatever semiconductor products they want to do in the first place.
