Overseas Travel Insurance

Just completed the Visit Japan Web and saw a section about overseas travel insurance.I’ve checked with online overseas travel insurance and nothing can’t exceed 180 days.

Since VJW requires it before entering the country, so buying it at a Japanese airport can’t be done, right?

When it comes to staying for one year, how would a person purchase overseas travel insurance for 1 year?

Edit 1:Found these,

Any using Patriot Lite or Allianz Care?

Thanks

  1. What visa re you coming on that you’ll require a full year of insurance?

If you’re a resident (working or student visas) you’re required to enroll in the National Health Insurance, so you only need 3rd party insurance for a very brief period.

  2. Well, the visa doesn’t require a full year of insurance.
I’ll be working there and be a resident too.

So I wouldn’t need overseas travel insurance then because I’ll be enrolled in the National Health Insurance, right?

This is all new to me with NHI and overseas travel insurance.

  3. Visit Japan web does not require overseas health insurance. It says recommended.
