I’m in need of a meditative weekend away from the noise and stress of the city right now. Does anyone know of somewhere in or near Tokyo that would provide something like a “cabin in the woods” experience for someone who wants to get away for a weekend? Something surrounded by nature would be ideal.I specifically want somewhere that has 0% chance of having other people in nearby rooms or otherwise who will potentially make noise that will be audible to you (i.e. people drinking or partying). Basically I’m looking for something that let’s you have guaranteed escape away from the noise of other people.

Yamanashi is probably your closest place to go for that.
Aomori/Iwate prefectures (joking but not joking too)
I would look for a small cabin or house on Airbnb, somewhere down the coast around Izu, or maybe Hakone or Chichibu.
Can you drive here? You could hire a camper van and head to somewhere like Hakone, Izu, Fuji Five Lakes, etc. and just stay at camp sites. Alternatively, those areas are easily accessed by train and have some cheaper standard hotels (rather than a ryokan) you could stay in.
It is a relatively good time now to rent a cabin at a campsite. Choose a time and place with bad weather reports, and bring a raincoat for those long walks. But better go within the week. Weekends are never really quiet.
air bnb cabins and huts in the South Boso peninsula are about 90 minutes away, like this
