Want to get to know US soldiers Stationed in Japan.

Hello r/japanlife, I am a real estate agent in Tokyo and I’m looking to better understand the housing needs of American soldiers stationed in Japan. I am hoping to find someone who could chat with me online to provide some insights or advice. If you have experience renting a house outside the base, I would love to hear about your process and any tips you might have.

Our company has more than10 years of experience, our plan is to build townhouses with equipments that suits American people’s needs and rent them to soldiers stationed in Japan. I’m happy to share more about myself and my experience in the real estate industry if you’re interested. Thank you in advance!

  1. Have you been to yokosuka? There are already hundreds of real estate agencies/housing companies catering to US military.

Seems like a pretty saturated market from my non-expert eyes.

  2. Try contacting the Housing Office on US military bases for further information. Their primary function is assisting military personnel in finding housing on or off the installation. If you need assistance in doing so, try finding out how to contact the Housing Office through the US Consulate in Tokyo.

  3. Just Google “housing office” and the name of a US military base to get their phone number and then give them a call. I can’t imagine it’s gonna be easy because there’s already a ton of real estate companies that have been fleecing the US government for decades.

  4. As others have noted, it takes less than 30 seconds to look up phone numbers for every US military housing office in the Kanto Plains. Each office develops materials and offers information sessions to support interested Japanese landlords and real estate companies.

OP, you claim your company has 10 years of experience… but only a few days ago you posted:

    >I have lived in Tokyo for about a year now… I have some background in real-estate back in Canada, I am wondering if I should start up a business in Tokyo aiming to help foreigners to find apartments.

So are you a well-established Tokyo real estate agent, or a newly arrived entrepreneur who has dabbled in real estate on the other side of the world? The inconsistencies, combined with your outreach targeted exclusively at US military personnel, is kinda sus…
