Websites or other ways to find a language exchange partner? Local alternatives to Facebook?

So I’ll be returning to life in Tokyo next month after 13 years away from Japan. My spoken Japanese has become embarassingly rusty in that time and I’d love to hit the ground running by setting up an in-person language exchange. Are there any good ways to find a (hopefully reliable and serious) exchange partner, particularly anything that doesn’t involve Facebook?

Piggybacking off of that, are there any platforms for buying and selling used items locally that aren’t Facebook Marketplace?

The enthusiasm is great, but you’re probably gonna be so busy when you first arrive that your language partner relationship will get off to a bad start. But yeah, ITalki, hellotalk, going to language exchange events, all good ways.

Yahoo auctions, Mercari, recycle/2nd hand shops, Amazon used listings. If you’re in Tokyo there’s a decent chance you won’t have a car – at least not right away – so you’ll probably want deliveries for larger items. In which case you maybe don’t need to look quite so locally.
