MLB.TV

Anyone had experience with the yearly MLB.tv package? I’m considering the purchase to watch Jays games. Can you access recordings of games? Any need for a VPN at all?

Just looking to hear from others who may have this service to gauge whether or not I want to invest in it this year.

Thanks!

  1. Works perfectly. Find some friends to split the login with. I think it supports up to five streams.

  2. I buy it every year. Just watch on the mlb app on game console, Apple TV, tablet, pc, phone etc.

All games are live and saved for on demand. You can start a game from the beginning or jump to live broadcast if it’s still in play. I set the scores to “off” so I don’t know what happened.

After the game is over you can watch the full game or a 40 min condensed version or just 5 minutes or so of highlights. I get the full package which is every game, every team (it’s already on for spring training), but you can buy just 1 team too

  3. I’ve only got the free version (or an account that lets me watch when the games are marked as free) to work maybe once every six or seven times. Has anyone with a paid account noticed that it’s more reliable?

How do you find friends to split the login with? I only know one person (in the US) who’s interested in the sport. Everyone else likes football/soccer (with a few in tennis).

  4. All good advice here and just to let you know, no VPN required. Having a VPN and using a server in your team’s market would probably lead to the game being blacked out anyway.

  5. Beware, last year they suddenly blacked out all postseason games for international viewers before quickly rolling it back after the backlash.

They may do the same this year as well, so best to watch these pages for updates
