I imagine you’ll need to explain exactly why you want to do it again.
I’ve never applied again but I have a few friends who have. When I was on JET I knew someone who was an ALT with JET in her 20s and did it again in her 30s. She was awesome and stayed for 5 years and was a great teacher.
I had another friend who applied again but was rejected. She only stayed for one year on her first contract and reapplied a few years later after getting teaching license back home. So possibly they didn’t think she’d really be suitable for the ALT role with her qualifications and how committed she was to it last time.
My pred ended up going back after taking three or four years to get her master’s in the states. I can try to message her and see what she says. I’m also curious because I want to reapply this year as well.
I have a feeling they might ask “what will you do differently this time” and “How do you think your expectations have changed?” Or something along those lines.

That’s what I would ask, if I was interviewing XD
