I applied to HUSTEP (which is an exchange student program for Hokkaido University) back in February. FYI, this was after I was nominated by my home university.
Now I’m waiting for the acceptance email from Hokkaido University that they would send to my exchange coordinator after the selection process. Despite the fact that HUSTEP said that they would let us know of the results in early April, so far my exchange coordinator hasn’t received any email from them.
Not only that, they’re also ignoring my exchange coordinator’s inquiries about why they haven’t emailed us the results yet.
Is there anyone else on the same boat as me? Should I ask Hokkaido University personally via my email address? Or would that be pushing it? (My coordinator said that she should be the only one in charge of contacting them.)
I’m just insanely worried that something went wrong. And the lack of communication regarding the selection process is fueling this anxiety of mine.
Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I know I come off as a bit paranoid, but I’ve been planning this for the last year and worked so hard to meet the university requirements. This seems like the home stretch, but it’s a very long one.

Hey! I’ve also applied for HUSTEP and have not heard anything back yet. I would give it time. There was another person last year who went to HUSTEP (I saw their Reddit post but I don’t remember where) and they had mentioned they were accepted mid-April so I am basing the acceptance time frame on their experience.
I’m really hoping we hear back soon though because I am also getting kind of anxious.
