1. Okinawan kokuto candy made from Okinawan brown sugar

2. Okinaqan kokutou/kurozatou candies. It’s closer to muscovado than it is to brown sugar. They definitely have a stronger molasses like flavor than the typical brown sugar.

3. If you can’t find this locally, there are Taiwanese versions that are fairly close. Okinawan brown sugar candy.

4. I find it at my local Daiso.

5. It’S call 「kuru za-ta-」kuru=black. za-ta-=sugar
