I am planning a trip with two of my best friends and just curious what you all think. None of us have been to Japan before, and we are all extremely excited.
**25 March**:
* Arrive HND 5:00pm; check-in to Airbnb in **Asakusa** neighborhood
* Dinner/drinks etc, or crash if we’re crazy jet lagged and tired
* Izakayas, Hoppy Dori
**26 March:**
* Wander around Asakusa, keep close to Airbnb if we’re tired and still feeling jetlagged
* Senso-ji Temple
* Tokyo Skytree
**27 March**:
* Tsukiji Market late morning for food and to check it out
* Timed tickets for TeamLabs at 1:00pm
**28 March**:
* Shibuya area
* Golden Gai
* Meiji Jingu Shrine
* Izakayas near there
**29 March**:
* Take Shinkansen to **Hakone** \- booked one night in Hakone Kyuan for the three of us.
* How difficult is it to get to the actual ryokan from the JR station? I see this involves a bus, so curious about other’s experience with getting to the ryokan from the Shinkansen stop.
* Has anyone stayed specifically at Hakone Kyuan, and if so, what are your thoughts?
**30 March** to **3 April**:
* Shinkansen from Hakone to **Osaka**; check-in to Airbnb in Osaka (Namba Ward)
* Dotonburi
* Osaka Castle
* Day trips to **Kyoto** (potentially also renting an Airbnb to stay in Kyoto one of the nights. Is this necessary if we already have lodging in Osaka?)
* Arashiyama Monkey Park
**3 April**:
* Shinkansen from Osaka to **Uno**
* Check-in to Airbnb in Uno (about 5 minute walk to the ferry piers)
* Setouchi Onsen
**4 April**:
* Naoshima Island
* I Luv U Onsen
* Other art houses on Naoshima
**5** **April**
* Teshima Island
* Teshima Art Museum: 10:00am
**6 April**
* Take Shinkansen back to Tokyo – staying at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku for the night. Hit up izakayas and Golden Gai area again
We tried not to overplan but wanted to make sure we included things we really were focused on doing. Does this seem pretty doable/chill? I’ve read a lot of recs about just not overplanning and walking around/taking everything in.
