Found this gem on YouTube, here we have the freshly branded “New Three Musketeers” of Tanahashi, Nakamura, and Shibata teaming up to take on the “Third Generation” trio of Tenzan, Nagata, and Nakanishi.
The dynamics are really cool, with Shibata and Nakanishi being the assholes of their teams, even attacking their teammates; one moment I found hilarious is when Shibata slaps Tana right in the kisser as a way to tag himself in.
Another thing I noticed is when it comes to the younger guys, Shibata actually has the most personality out of the three, being full of piss and vinegar and full of scorn towards both the older guys and his own tag partners (slapping Tana and Nak several times). Compare this to how all three men revolved: Tanahashi into the ultra-babyface and flashy in-ring Ace; Nakamura into the charismatic and swagger filled King of Strong Style; and Shibata into the reserved and stoic (tho filled with rage beneath the surface) Wrestler.
