Insurance for items?

Both this land in Japan and I was thinking of getting some sort of insurance for it since from what I know earthquakes happen in Japan. So I was wondering if there’s an insurance company you’d recommend. Preferably not just the building but also the items inside.

  1. Yeah. It all depends on your coverage and how much you’re willing to pay. My house is around ¥40k a year just for the house. We looked at getting coverage for our stuff but the price went up significantly. We decided to just put money into an emergency fund that would cover the costs of replacing our stuff since you would lose money after a few years

  2. If you’re talking individual items, I use Hoken no Madoguchi to insure all of my camera equipment. Signing up is a bit of a pain in the ass, but the rates are good. I pay around ¥15,000 per year to insure ~$20k USD of equipment.

  3. Wait you bought a BUILDING and LAND in Japan and you’re asking Reddit about insurance?

    That makes zero sense.
