I’m looking to use video games to improve my Japanese. I’ve always played lots of video games but never really considered playing them specifically for Japanese.
I plan on using an emulator so DS/3DS games are my best best. I also need to improve my recognition of Kanji, so anything which furigana is necessary. Ideally I’m wondering if people have put together mini-courses or flashcard decks that cater to a specific game. That way I really can focus on the learning aspect
Some games I’m looking at areː
Zelda games (I haven’t played link between worlds or phantom hourglass)
Pokemon Black and White (maybe?)
Mother 3 (it’s GBA so actually no kanji, but it’s a last resort)
Yokai Watch (i’ve never played a game in this series, but people have recommended it)

If you have a switch, I made an Anki deck for [Sumire](https://www.tumblr.com/monniebiloney/684916150537224192/guess-who-played-sumire-this-girl-haha-im)
/u/Jo-Mako has done some [video game anki decks](https://www.reddit.com/r/LearnJapanese/comments/y8wxma/comment/ja6h931/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) including Yokai Watch.
Check jpdb.io there’s a ton of decks
Haven’t made one for other people but I played Ace Attorney Investigations 2 in Japanese as it was never released in English. Made myself a whole deck of legal vocab along the way.
