I’ve noticed 10 white eggs go up from ¥168 to ¥178 to ¥198 and now the only ones available (brown not white) are ¥230 something
These are sad times for us ovivorous people living in japan
Thing is that I’ve not seen less supply of eggs. Just an increase in price. Sooo?
Those birds could have been cut up, cooked and canned.
Cool, I’ve been wondering when we’d get a chance to join in with the egg memes.
We just had the same thing happened to us in America so we absolutely have empathy for you. Eggs went from $2-$3 to upwards of $10 a dozen (the average near me was $6-$7/dz)
The place I go to for eggs hasn’t raised their prices at all but they are semi-premium eggs.
We did go there one day and they didn’t have a delivery so we couldn’t get any but since then every time we’ve gone they’ve had a decent supply.
Maybe this is because they are a smaller operation than the big egg farms?
Also, I can count on Chabo-chan to lay an egg every other day or so!
Oh wow. Here in Sweden we have had 4 recent salmonella cases.
Bird flu … I wonder how it can spread so fast through farms where birds are stacked like boxes
Stop buying those?
Eat other food?
