[Itinerary Check] 5 days in Tokyo

Hello, I’ll be taking a 3-week vacation to Japan for the first time in mid-April and will spend 5 days in Tokyo. I planned out 4 of the 5 days, but I’m curious if what I have so far is realistic, or if I should distribute this plan into the 5th day. If days 1-4 look good, I’d appreciate some ideas of things to do on day 5.

  1. I would allow time on day 1 to just get your bearings. Japanese airports while amazing can be so confusing. It’s also unlikely you’ll have the energy for both Ueno and Akihabar in one day.

  2. I am looking at a similar trip in July! I was googling a few items on your list and it said Venus Fort is permanently closed…at least according to google

  3. Oef, doing Disney on your 2nd day and getting up at 7am? Good luck with your jetlag 😉

  4. I feel like your Disneysea day should be a Day 3 or 4 activity so you can adjust yourself from jetlag. And on day 5, maybe you could go to the Ghibli museum, Senso-ji temple (oldest temple in Tokyo), Nakameguro (might see a nice view of the cherry blossom if it’s not too late), or prehaps Tokyo Skytree

  5. Day 1: 2:30pm landing and reach hotel at 4pm after lunch? That is so optimistic lol. Just be prepared you might not even have your lunch at 4pm.

Day 1 is way too ambitious, prepare not being able to do everything. IMO, just take it easy and explore akiba for day 1, and move your schedule to day 5

Day 2: I agree to people here, move the disneysea to day 3 or 4, both are valid option, look for the weather forecast too. And disneysea these days is letting people entering early, so check out whether they will do this or not during your visit

Day 3: tsukiji fish market open early in the morning, so go there first. Btw venus fort is permanently closed 🙁

Day 4: you can add harajuku in the mix? And not sure why do you wanna go to golden gai at 2pm, everything will be closed lol
