Hi. Can anyone give me advice? I like this Social Studies teacher (and I’m an ALT) and he’s going to be transferred to a different school, so I asked for his Line last Thursday. I haven’t seen him nor texted him since then since he might be busy trying to finish all work he has to do before relocating schools. I haven’t dated my whole life and add to that factor that I’m a big woman. I’m a fat woman there you go. I get confident, but I also get insecure sometimes especially that my body is not Japan’s “standards”. Plus I’m a foreigner.
I’m also not Japanese. My little sister (who grew up here. So she’s very much Japanese in culture) told me that I should wait until March 28th to message him (it’s the day where teachers say their farewells to the school).
Should I wait until the 28th or do you have anything good (or bad lol) to say??????

You sound like you’re completely unsure if he’s even interested in you. Just invite him out to stuff with your friends, see how he reacts with the invite and at the event, keep inviting him out if he does come out and be friendly and slowly more flirty as time goes on.

You could always use the English/Japanese gateway I guess. “I know we’re not allowed to use Japanese in school but I’d like to practice my Japanese with you at maybe a cafe or something if that’s fine”. As a man, I don’t usually say that but if a woman said that to me it’d make me feel as if she were at least somewhat interested.
You should’ve befriended a female teacher and did some reconnaissance.
Male attractive teachers are kind of high on the dating pecking order so I’m not sure about your chances but shooters gonna shoot right? I usually just get the teacher’s instagram and comment on their stories to build familiarity then invite them out.
That’s a risky line to walk. I knew ALTs that lost their job just for trying to be friends and hang out with teachers outside of school. Pursuing a romantic relationship with a teacher in the same school district was also noted in the manual as an instant firing.
Not gonna name the company, but it is definitely the worst ALT company in the country.
If you’re really into him, ask his close coworkers “what is his preference?” before you text to him.
Just message him and say let’s hang out some time, some guys are into big rigs so you never know
Oh that’s a tough one. I guess your sisters advice is based on saving face in case he’s not interested. Would it be totally akward/ might he gossip if you send something now? I think I might be inclined to agree with your sister, if you ask him at the last day he has nothing to lose and if he says yes then, you know it’s because he’s genuinely interested in you and he isn’t agreeing just to ‘keep the harmony’ so to speak for the last remaining days.
