Studying Abroad

Hello,

I’m an American and my college has an association with Waseda University. I am currently in the level 2/5 in Japanese language and seek to minor in it. I am also set on studying on my own time on a daily basis. I am majoring in Psychology. Do you know if going to Waseda in Spring of 2024 is a realistic goal? I know you don’t have to know Japanese but I’d like to be able to converse with people in Japanese and develop my Japanese language skills. The main reason I want to go is to get immersed in the language as I seek to become fluent in Japanese hopefully within the next few years. Please let me know if you think this is a good idea and if you know how Waseda is in general. Again, I am mainly wanting to go to develop Japanese language skills and not for Psychology so I don’t really care about the quality of that department as much. I’d also appreciate any advice or tips you have in regards to learning Japanese thoroughly (not necessarily as fast as possible, but what helps stick with you, any resources, etc). Thanks.
