I’ll be visiting another country for a time, and expect to be just as active on Reddit during that time as while I’m here in Japan.
I’ve heard of users being banned from this sub when posting from overseas despite being residents or long-term residents. In my case, _very_ long-term, having resided here continuously since the 1990s.
Is there any danger of being banned if I post here while overseas, or are those stories of over-eager banhammers by mods merely overblown stories and not actually true?
Would appreciate any mod response clarifying the situation for myself and other members of this subreddit, to address the culture of fear which presently prevails.

I really wouldn’t worry about it
Probably not. There are people here who have never lived in Japan.
I’ve had my post removed for « not living in Japan », while living in Japan. It’s always a gamble here.
I wouldn’t worry too much, so long as the content is related to living and life in Japan. I will speculate a bit here, but I think Rule 3 is to prevent this sub from becoming another /r/Japan or /r/JapanTravel.
I am not a mod of course and their advice will always take heed over mine, but I have definitely seen tons of non-residents post and have no issue.
