  1. I dont think day 12 is possible. Thats so many things. Are you taking a cab to each location? Not all of them are that close to each other.

In general, I feel like you are going to need to FLY through certain things in order to do all of this.

  2. Day 3 and 4 have wayy too much activity, good thing you have day 7

Day 3 is makes more sense to diver city since it is close to teamlab planets

Day 6: if you gonna go to disneyland or disneysea, buy the ticket from now, you cannot buy it when you reach the park. They have no ticket booth in yhe park. The ticket can only be purchased online, I think you can buy it from 711 or family mart, but please save yourself from headache by buying it from now. I would suggest disneysea

Day 8 and 9: 2 days seems a lot in hakone, you might be able to finish it in one day, and one day to gotemba premium outlet?

Transportation in hakone close at 6 I think (or even 5) so go ahead and go to kyoto straight away on day 9 at night

Which airport you will gonna use to go back to your home country? Will jr pass save you some money?

  3. A lot of these days are really packed, don’t forget to breathe and soak things in.

    * Day 3: I think Odaiba is undergoing some reconstruction right now, not sure if the Gundam base is still there, someone else might have a better idea.

    * Day 5 seems tight unless you are getting up early and planning to literarily walk by the locations in question. It’s very easy to spend a half a day in a few of those spots.

    * Similarly, Day 16 is packed with several different neighborhoods. What are you looking to do there? explore? eat? shop? These things will take time and you’ll almost certainly find items of interest along the way.

    * Re: Day 19. unless you already have tickets, you are most likely not going to make it to a Carp game. they go fast 🙁

    Have a fantastic trip!

  4. Just landed in Tokyo yesterday. Some notes:

    * I had assumed 2hrs from the airport into Tokyo. Immigration lines are a mess. Anyway, it took 4hrs from Narita. So just saying to manage expectations. Was pretty wired and stayed up til 1am, walking around Shinjiku
    * Day 2 is when things catch up. Woke up early, super refreshed, and was super happy putting Tuskiji Outer Market on this second day because we did wake up early and enjoyed the market until the tourists come around 9am, which is when we left.
    * Still Day 2 and it’s 2:47am and I’m awake! Woke up around 1am feeling super refreshed after passing out at 10pm. Anyway, this is definitely when sleep starts hitting. I’m sure it had a lot to do with how much walking we did today and that my brain isn’t fully wired, but we’re planning to make Day 3 the super chill day which is almost everything you have listed in Day 5. Don’t forget to book Shibuya Sky tix in advance as I’m looking forward to a sunset view.
    * Also, we had to move this entire day as it’s forecast to rain for the next 4 days. So be amenable to weather as any walking around areas like Harajuku does require a nice day. BTW, it did get pretty warm here today and tomorrow is going to be in the 70s F!

  5. You should really take the time to enjoy the locations. You don’t have to cluster everything together.

  6. Why do so many people get their sim at the airport? Mobal is cheap, unlimited and they ship (at least for me) FedEx express international at no extra charge

  7. Have you compared GOOGLE FI vs DATA Sim. I found it much better, the Bandwidth was more reliable and faster, also I had access to calling people back home if I had to. Plus you are going to be quite as limited in “amount” of Data use. I keep a Google Fi Card, on Pause, and then Unpause my service every time I travel. I’m even thinking about switching it to my every day use.

  8. > Tokyo skytree

There are people here who will say this isn’t worth the time or money. As someone who doesn’t necessarily love huge tourist attractions and normally wouldn’t wait in a 10-minute line for a crisp $100 bill, I strongly disagree with that statement.

To see the world’s largest city from 1000+ feet up was really something spectacular. The density and general vastness of Tokyo are hard to understand until you’re peering down from far above. It’s fun to pick out the various neighborhoods and get your bearings, and if the sky is clear, the views stretch out far beyond city limits. Also, the structure is a legit engineering marvel worth seeing up close if you’re into that kinda thing.

  9. I think your current Hakone itinerary is okay. I’ve gone to Hakone twice and both times wished I stayed longer but because it was so relaxing. I was totally about to do the Hakone circuit. If you leave Tokyo earlier the first day and then leave in the evening for Kyoto you will have plenty of time for the circuit plus any museums you want to check out. Most things close around 5pm (at least when I was there last).

  10. You’re going to have the best time!!!! Just a few small comments:
    1. Renting a bike in Kyoto is SO much fun and helps you cover ground quickly. Just note that there’s no bike parking near kiyomizu
    2. Don’t skip visiting an onsen!
    3. People have mentioned that your schedule is packed, but I think they key is to have this as a rough guideline but not to cling to it too hard. You might find something you’re super excited about that shifts your timeline, or you might just be really tired! Either way, being flexible will help there!

    Have a blast 🙂

  11. Looks like me and my friend will be in some of the cities the same time you are. I really enjoyed reading your itinerary.
